EOA 75th Anniversary Luncheon with special Guest Speaker Daniel Moult
To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the re-founding of the Essex Organists’ Association, we are planning to hold a special luncheon and we are delighted that Daniel Moult has agreed to be our guest of honour. One of the leading organists of his generation, Daniel is well known to many as a concert organist, recording artist and film presenter as well as Head of Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and a trustee of and examiner for the Royal College of Organists.
We are looking to hold the luncheon on Saturday 31st January at the County Hotel in the centre of Chelmsford, within easy reach of the railway station. The County Hotel has offered us a private dining room on the first floor (no lift access) and can provide a two-course luncheon with a choice of dishes from an a la carte menu (the sample menu offers a choice of five mains and four desserts), plus coffee. There is a bar available on the ground floor where diners can buy their own drinks. Partners and friends are also welcome to join us.
Taking into account the costs associated with putting together the package of distinguished guest speaker, private dining room and two course lunch plus coffee, the charge to attend this lunch will be £45 per person. We believe that this is a bargain when compared to the forthcoming RCO Gala Dinner (£100 per person) and the Organ Club Centenary Launch Lunch (£97 per person)!
Because we need to confirm the booking in mid-October, at which point a deposit of £10 per person becomes payable, it would be very much appreciated if you could inform us of your interest by 10th October. If places need to be limited (the dining room can accommodate a maximum of 35 people), priority will be given to people in the order in which they expressed an interest. Please email organistassociation@gmail.com or telephone Michaela Cottee on 07784 514119.
