On Sunday 10th May, Timothy E. Popple, creator of Quires and Places and Quire Memes, will visit Chelmsford Cathedral to give a talk about his new book, “Evensong – Notes from the Choir”, which Sir John Rutter describes as ‘laugh out loud’. Doors will open at 4.30pm, when refreshments will be available; the talk will begin at 5.00pm. This will be followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing.
As well as the obligatory historic tales of questionable lay clerks, Tim’s book looks at choral life with heart and humour, giving insight and inspiration to those who live it, and invitation to those who are yet to discover it. His talk offers a chance to hear the author read extracts from the book, to quiz him on his favourite canticles, and of course to meet the author and buy the book.
Tickets are free, but advance booking is recommended. You can book tickets from the Chelmsford Cathedral website – Evensong – Notes from the Choir | Chelmsford Cathedral.
There will be a special Evensong at 3.30pm before the talk, which you will be welcome to join.
