In this, the 400th anniversary year of the death of the Essex composer, William Byrd (1540-1623), for our July event, EOA members were very pleased to be able to support EOA Member Dr Richard Overill’s lecture-recital, “A Byrd in the Hand”, at St Nicholas Church in Witham.
Our newly elected Committee member and Minutes Secretary, Chris Denney has organised a day’s visits for us in Southend – somewhere which the EOA has not visited for many years, and we hope members will take advantage of this opportunity to play the organs at these churches in the bottom right corner of coastal Essex!
